Frequently asked questions
How do I know which IATA crate size to choose?
The crate must let the animal stand, turn around and lie down naturally. Measure the length (nose to base of tail) and add half the leg length; for height, measure the animal standing, including erect ears. We check these dimensions against the IATA rule.
My dog is brachycephalic (flat-nosed). Are there precautions?
Yes. Flat-faced breeds breathe less easily and some airlines require a crate one size larger. We adapt the choice and flight conditions accordingly.
IATA cat carrier: which one to choose?
In the cabin, a soft bag that fits under the seat is enough (weight limit set by the airline, often around 8 kg including the bag). In the hold or as cargo, you need a rigid IATA-approved crate with a metal door and ventilation on several sides.
Can I use my own crate?
